Three Candidates File Papers to Run for City Council

The filing period for candidates for the open seat on the Sausalito City Council closed on Friday, August 11 at 5:00 p.m. Three candidates filed papers before the deadline: Melissa Blaustein, Susan Cleveland-Knowles, and Bill Werner. The special municipal election will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

The Marin County Registrar of Voters must verify each candidate before he or she can be placed on the ballot for the November election. To see the verification status of the prospective candidates for Sausalito City Council, visit the county's Status of Candidates Who Have Taken out Papers for Office webpage. Candidates who filed on Friday, August 11 will not be verified by the county until the following week.

The at-large City Council election will be the only item on the ballot in Sausalito on November 7. To register to vote, please visit the California Online Voter Registration website. To check the status of your voter registration in Marin County, visit the county's Voter Information Portal.
