Post Date:12/15/2017 3:00 p.m.
At the City of Sausalito employee holiday party on December 1, Assistant City Manager Lilly Whalen announced the winners of two annual awards for Sausalito City employees, the Debbie Pagliaro Exceptional Customer Service Award and the Extreme Act of Kindness Award. In last week's edition of the Sausalito Currents e-newsletter, we featured the Debbie Pagliaro Exceptional Customer Service Award nominees and winner. This week, we'll recap the Extreme Act of Kindness Award.

City Manager Adam Politzer created the Extreme Act of Kindness Award to recognize a City employee for going far beyond her or his day-to-day responsibilities to help a Sausalito resident, fellow employee, or visitor to Sausalito. Nominations were made by City employees, who were invited to submit the names and accomplishments of deserving coworkers.

The following City employees were nominated for the 2017 award:
  • Officer Honour Knudsen
  • Sewer Maintenance Worker III Trevor Seidler
  • Officer Sean Smagalski
  • Officer Edgar Padilla
This year's winner of the Extreme Act of Kindness Award, as selected by City Manager Adam Politzer and Assistant City Manager Lilly Whalen, is Officer Honour Knudsen of the Sausalito Police Department. Officer Knudsen received the award for her extraordinary empathy and compassion in performing a death notification to a parent whose child had recently passed away in a fire.
