Parks and Recreation Commission Update
On Wednesday, August 16, the entire newly seated Parks and Recreation Commission met for the first time. After hearing a presentation on the Brown Act, the commissioners selected Susan Harriman as Chair and Jamie Bruning-Miles as Vice Chair. During the meeting, the Commission received renovation updates on Southview Park and Dunphy Park, as well as information on upcoming events produced by the Parks and Recreation Department.
Future agenda items include a meeting to gather input for the General Plan and an update on all projects funded through the Certificates of Participation.
The Commission will not meet on Wednesday, September 20, as Parks and Recreation staff will be at the Planning Commission meeting on Southview Park. Instead, the Commission will meet on September 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Edgewater Room at City Hall. In October, the Commission will resume meeting at its regular date and time, the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
