Library Now Offers Kanopy Collection of Streaming Movies

Post Date:09/08/2017 12:30 p.m.

With the launch of a new Library website in August, the Sausalito Library also launched Kanopy, a streaming movie service that is now free for Sausalito residents. Kanopy features the Criterion Collection of classic U.S. and foreign films, including titles like 8 ½, The Last Metro, and Rashomon. You'll also find thousands of other recent independent and documentary films, such as East Side Sushi, 2 Days in Paris, and I am Not Your Negro.

Movies from Kanopy can be viewed on computers, mobile devices (via the Kanopy app for iOS and Android), and on televisions via Roku. To use Kanopy, you will need to create an account with an email address, then authenticate with your library card number and PIN.

To get started, look for the Kanopy button in the Digital Collections area of the Library homepage, or download the Kanopy app or channel to your device, or follow the link below. Sausalito residents may borrow up to eight movies per month. Any questions about Kanopy may be directed to City Librarian Abbot Chambers at achambers@sausalito.gov.
