Record Attendance at Chili Cook Off

The 39th Annual Chili Cook Off in Dunphy Park featured seventeen chili chefs, live bluegrass music, and beautiful fall weather. A record 960 wristbands were sold. With a wristband, you got unlimited tastings at chili booths, plus six wooden tokens for voting in the People's Choice category. Winners in the Best Booth and Judges' Choice categories were selected by a panel of judges that included Vice Mayor Joan Cox, State Senator Mike McGuire, Marin County Supervisor Kate Sears, and Sausalito resident Kate Gothreau.

Here are this year's winning chefs:
  • Best Booth
    • 1st Place: OMG!
    • 2nd Place: Buck Boys Boat Chili
    • 3rd Place: Chili Dogs
       
  • Judges' Choice
    • 1st Place: St. Hilary School
    • 2nd Place: Fire in the Soul
    • 3rd Place: Hottie and Nauti
    • 4th Place: Buck Boys Boat Chili
    • 5th Place: Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church
    • 6th Place: The Usual Suspects 
       
  • People's Choice
    • 1st Place: Buck Boys Boat Chili
    • 2nd Place: Susan for Sausalito
    • 3rd Place: Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church
    • 4th Place: The Usual Suspects
    • 5th Place: Winston Churchilli
    • 6th Place: Big Dog Chili
The Chili Cook Off will return in the fall of 2018 for its fortieth year. We'll be looking for another lineup of intrepid and creative chili chefs, so start working on your chili recipes!
