Parks and Recreation Commission Update

Post Date:10/06/2017 5:00 p.m.
The Parks and Recreation Commission held its regular monthly meeting on September 27. Items on the agenda included a presentation by Finance Director Melanie Purcell on the CoP (Certificate of Participation) projects at the MLK campus, a presentation by the Chamber of Commerce, and updates on the Southview Park and Dunphy Park improvement projects.

The next Parks and Recreation Commission meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Edgewater Room of City Hall. Representatives from the M-Group, the City's General Plan Update consultant, will be at the meeting to discuss the General Plan as it relates to parks and recreation in Sausalito. In addition to input from the commission, the M-Group and the City of Sausalito are seeking input from residents. An RSVP is not necessary to attend, but we would like an idea of how many people to expect. Please contact Mike Langford at mlangford@sausalito.gov if you plan to attend.

For its November 15 meeting, the commission will be discussing renovations to MLK Park. Topics under consideration will include work prioritization and the schedule of improvements to the tennis courts, basketball courts, and field area. The public is encouraged to attend and give input.
