Parks and Recreation Commission Update

The seven-member Parks and Recreation Commission advises the City Council on the activities of the Parks and Recreation Department, on planning and policy matters related to City of Sausalito parks and recreation areas, and on the management of public art in Sausalito.

Previous meeting. The Parks and Recreation Commission did not meet during the month of April. At its meeting on March 21, the commission received an update on the MLK Park Tennis Court Improvement Project from Senior Civil Engineer Andrew Davidson. The commission also approved the special event application submitted by the Sausalito Portuguese Cultural Center for the Holy Ghost Festa Parade to be held on May 20.

Upcoming meeting. The Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Edgewater Room on the lower level of City Hall. Topics on the agenda include an update on Southview, MLK, and Dunphy Park renovations; a review of tennis court rules; and special event permit applications from the Lycée Français, Flynn Creek Circus, and MS Waves to Wine.
