Report a Non-Emergency Crime Using the City Website

Post Date:06/08/2018 1:00 p.m.

The Sausalito Police Department launched a new "Report a Crime" feature on the City website on Monday, June 4. The new reporting system makes it possible for members of the public to report certain types of non-emergency crimes over the internet, such as:
  • Harassing phone calls
  • Identity theft
  • Lost property
  • Theft
  • Theft from a vehicle
  • Vandalism
  • Vehicle tampering
Reports received through the online form will be reviewed by police supervisors. If approved, the person who filed the report will receive an email with a copy of the report attached. Approved reports will be transferred into the Sausalito Police Department's records management system and receive the same attention, investigation, and statistical analysis that are given to reports filed by an officer. If a report is not approved, the person who filed the report will receive an email with an explanation.

Any questions about the new reporting system may be directed to the Sausalito Police Department at (415) 289-4170.
