This sculpture on the waterfront in Sausalito was originally fabricated in concrete in 1957 by local artist Al Sybrian. By the mid-1960s, the concrete was starting to wear down, so it was replaced by a bronze cast of the original. Sybrian's sea lion is the most photographed piece of public art in Sausalito. Models in miniature are for available for sale at the Sausalito Historical Society's Ice House Museum and Visitors Center.
