Sausalito Beautiful Renovates Bridgeway Median Six

Post Date:01/05/2018 3:00 PM
The City of Sausalito and Sausalito Beautiful are proud to announce the completion of the privately funded renovation of Bridgeway Median Six, the median strip to the north of the intersection of Bridgeway and Spring Street. Funds for the project came from Sausalito Beautiful's donor pool, Sloat Garden Center, Jon Lam, State Farm Insurance, First California Realty, and a generous anonymous donor.

Sausalito Beautiful directed the project in concert with Public Works Division Manager Loren Umbertis of the City of Sausalito. Tom Wilhite of Green Man Garden Design and Consultation served as landscape designer and project manager. Installation was performed by GSI Landscaping.

New plants at Bridgeway Median Six include Aloe, Manzanita, California Lilac, Coyote Brush, California Poppy, and Cape Mendocino Reed Grass. The plants are complemented by Sonoma Fieldstone boulders. The design of Median Six is a continuation of the concept used for the recent improvements of Bolinar Plaza and Bridgeway Medians Three and Four (north and south of Harbor Drive).

Sausalito Beautiful is a non-profit volunteer organization whose mission is to create, enhance, and protect the City's public landscapes through advocacy, partnership, and the encouragement of a community-wide culture of responsibility.
