Post Date:02/09/2018 3:00 PM
On Wednesday, January 31, the Sausalito Police Department held its annual departmental meeting. During the meeting, Chief John Rohrbacher spoke of the police department's accomplishments in 2017 and its goals and plans for 2018. Chief Rohrbacher also presented three employees with the department's annual awards for service.

2017 Employee of the Year Award
In 2017, Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) Marie Coleman distinguished herself as a role model and contributed significantly to the Sausalito Police Department's policing mission. PEO Coleman continued to perform her parking enforcement duties at the highest level, while also taking on new responsibilities during the year, such as writing ordinance violations. As an experienced member of the police department, she took every opportunity to share her knowledge with new department members. PEO Coleman also proactively assisted patrol officers throughout the year by monitoring radio traffic and conveying critical information, serving as an extra set of eyes in the field, and providing much-needed support.

2017 Captain Mark Thomas Award
Throughout 2017, Administrative Aide Dawn Barbour demonstrated the values of the Captain Mark Thomas Award on a daily basis and without exception. Day in and day out, she exhibited great teamwork, a strong work ethic, and a genuine concern about others. Administrative Aide Barbour's professionalism, compassion, kind-heartedness, empathy, patience, positivity, and friendly demeanor not only made her a wonderful co-worker, but the ideal person to serve as the face of the department to the public.

2017 Lieutenant Skoog Top Gun Award
Sergeant Thomas Georges received the highest score in the combined disciplines of marksmanship and combat shooting during the Sausalito Police Department's 2017 Top Gun Competition.
