New Gangway for Turney Street Dock Arrives October 10

Post Date:10/06/2017 3:30 PM
The delivery of a new eighty-foot gangway to the Turney Street intersection of Bridgeway in the early morning of Tuesday, October 10, is likely to create traffic disturbances for Sausalito residents traveling through the area. The delivery by Hallsten Marine is scheduled to take place between 2:00 and 4:00 a.m. on October 10 and will require parking restrictions, traffic flagging, and short-term lane closures between the Highway 101 off-ramp at the north end of town and Turney Street. The work is scheduled for the early morning hours to minimize the disruption to traffic.

A ban on overnight parking will be posted and enforced on Turney Street between Bridgeway and Caledonia Street, and at 1221 Bridgeway. The restrictions will be in effect from 9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9 through 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10.
On the afternoon of October 10, Hallsten Marine will back the tractor-trailer from Bridgeway onto the Turney Street Boat Ramp to unload the gangway. If you live or work near the Turney Street intersection with Bridgeway, please expect noise from the truck's back-up alarm and air brakes. The City of Sausalito will make every effort to minimize noise and inconvenience from the work.
The installation of the new gangway is the final phase of a two-phase project to make the Turney Street Boat Ramp, gangway, and "dinghy dock" more accessible in all tide conditions. The project brings the facilities into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the California Building Code. Please contact Jill Barnes, Department of Public Works Project Manager at (415) 905-0680 or if you have any questions about the project.
