Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee Update

The role of the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee is to provide the City Council with recommendations on bicycle, pedestrian, congestion management, and other circulation issues in the community.

Previous meeting: The Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee met for a special meeting on Monday, March 26 in the Council Chambers. After the introduction of new members, the committee elected David Suto as chair, Nathan Scripps as vice chair, and Russ Irwin as secretary. The committee also created a pedestrian subcommittee consisting of Secretary Irwin and Vice Chair Scripps. In addition to a brief discussion of the Brown Act, the PBAC heard a report from Kristi Bascom of the M-Group on the City's General Plan Update.

Upcoming meeting: The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday April 16. Due to a special City Council meeting in the Council Chambers that night, the meeting will be held in the Edgewater Room on the lower level of City Hall. The focus of the meeting will be a review of the draft 2018 Pedestrian/Bicycle Plan Check-In, which was prepared by consultants for the Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) for the benefit of the City of Sausalito.

The staff liaisons for the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee are Public Works Director Jonathon Goldman and Chief of Police John Rohrbacher. The Council liaison is Vice Mayor Joe Burns.
