Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) has scheduled overnight electrical service installation work in the downtown area on Thursday, May 24 and Friday, May 25. PG&E briefly considered postponing the project, but as of May 18, the plan is to go ahead with construction on May 24-25. If there is a late postponement, a notice will be posted in the City of Sausalito News section of the City website.
The PG&E work in downtown Sausalito will have significant impacts on local businesses and residents, including the following:
- A sidewalk closure at 676-686 Bridgeway from 10:00 p.m. on May 24 to 8:00 p.m. on May 25
- A temporary power outage in the area around 676-686 Bridgeway from 10:00 p.m. on May 24 to 6:00 a.m. on May 25
- Noise from heavy equipment, including jackhammers, from 10:00 p.m. on May 24 to 6:00 a.m. on May 25
Pavement restoration is scheduled to be completed Friday morning by 10:00 a.m. The concrete will take from six to nine hours to set. The sidewalk at 676-686 Bridgeway will reopen by 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25.
Additional daytime disruptions in the area should be expected on and before May 24 as crews prepare the work site.
Expect traffic signals at the Princess/Bridgeway intersection and street lights along Princess, El Portal and Bridgeway in the vicinity of the project to be out during PG&E’s planned power outage. The Sausalito Marin City Sanitary District will have equipment and personal along Bridgeway in the vicinity of the Trident Restaurant. Temporary stop signs will be posted at the Princess/Bridgeway intersection, and light towers will be placed at the El Portal/Bridgeway and the Princess/Bridgeway intersections.
