What Will Sausalito Be in Twenty Years?

Post Date:06/08/2018 1:30 PM

The Sausalito General Plan Update is currently underway, and a vision is needed that will guide this community for the next twenty years. Your input as a resident, business, or property owner in Sausalito is critical to developing a consensus about what the community wants to be in the future and deciding what is necessary to achieve that vision.
  • What do you and your neighbors value most about Sausalito?
  • What is essential to preserving quality of life and prosperity?
  • What is your image of the community in the future?
  • What should change in Sausalito, and what should remain the same?
  • What are the critical issues to be addressed in the next 20 years?
  • Should we protect and improve the waterfront?
  • Is it important to conserve Sausalito's historic charm?
  • How can Sausalito be beautified and improved for the enjoyment of all?
  • What needs to be considered to balance revenue sources and service needs?
You can share your vision by participating in a community workshop on Saturday, June 23 from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the Banquet Room of the Spinnaker Restaurant. The City is partnering with a consultant team led by M-Group on the effort to update the General Plan. At the workshop, M-Group will facilitate an interactive and engaging discussion designed to identify priorities and a broad vision for Sausalito. The General Plan is considered the blueprint for the community, and it is a guide that illustrates the path forward.

Workshop schedule on Saturday, June 23:
  • 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. – Introduction to General Plan work completed to date and overview of existing conditions in the community
  • 10:00 a.m. to noon – Interactive workshop and facilitated discussions on community priorities and goals
For workshop details and to RSVP, please visit sausalitogeneralplan.org or come to the Community Development Department window in City Hall. Any questions or comments about the General Plan Update may be directed to Community Development Director Danny Castro at dcastro@sausalito.gov or (415) 289-4133. The Spinnaker Restaurant is located at 100 Spinnaker Drive.
