Progress Report on the Sausalito General Plan Update

Post Date:10/05/2018 3:00 PM

At its meeting on October 9, the City Council will review a progress report on the Sausalito General Plan Update from City staff and M-Group, the City's project consultant. The Council will also be asked for guidance and direction on whether the Marinship district should be covered by a stand-alone specific plan or by the General Plan, with policies implemented in the City's Zoning Ordinance.

The progress report to the City Council covers the completion of the existing conditions reports, which form the background for the General Plan. It also includes draft community goals that have been referred by the General Plan Advisory Committee for the City Council's consideration.

A general plan is a city's blueprint for the future. It establishes the framework of objectives and policies that guide decisions on future growth and development. The Sausalito General Plan Update project began in March 2017 and is expected to continue through 2019. More information is available on the General Plan Update website.

Any questions about the General Plan Update may be directed to Community Development Director Lilly Whalen at lwhalen@sausalito.gov or (415) 289-4133. The General Plan Update item for the City Council meeting on October 9 is expected to begin at approximately 8:00 p.m.
