PG&E Gas Pipeline Work on Filbert Avenue and Easterby Street Begins Monday, October 8

Post Date:10/05/2018 12:10 PM
On Monday, October 8, PG&E will begin a gas pipeline replacement project on Filbert Avenue between Easterby Street and Napa Street and on Easterby Street between Pearl Street and Bridgeway. PG&E will be upgrading gas services to residents and businesses. The project is expected to last until late January 2019. Weather and other factors affecting safe working conditions may change the work schedule.

PG&E will assess and replace a portion of the natural gas distribution lines which are located under the street or on private property. This work may also involve upgrading gas meters. Prior to the start of work, and to ensure PG&E has adequate space to safely install their gas lines away from other underground utilities, a qualified contractor will determine the sewer service location and use a video camera to inspect it. During construction, you may see PG&E and contractor trucks and other equipment. All personnel are required to carry valid photo identification and are happy to provide identification upon request.

Construction requires traffic control, parking restrictions, and detours. PG&E crews will be closing the portions of Filbert and Easterby in their work zones. Filbert and Easterby will be closed to through traffic but available to local traffic with some delay. Please anticipate a delay if crews are working outside your home or business. Please watch for construction area signs and use caution while driving, walking, or bicycling in the vicinity of construction work.
