Air Quality Advisory Extended Through November 20

Post Date:11/16/2018 4:00 PM
The Bay Area continues to experience heavy smoke from the Camp Fire in Butte County. Due to the unhealthy air quality in much of the region, an Air Quality Advisory is in effect through Tuesday, November 20.

Sausalito residents should limit outdoor activity as much as possible during an Air Quality Advisory. When air quality is unhealthy, the first and best option is to stay indoors with windows and doors closed. Masks should not be used as an alternative to remaining indoors. If you do use a mask, the California Department of Public Health recommends N95 respirators or P100 masks, both of which are approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health for health care workers and firefighters.

For updated smoke advisories, visit the website of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. For information about the current air quality, visit the air district's air monitoring data page. For forecasts, Spare the Air maintains a five-day forecast for five reporting zones in the greater Bay Area. Sausalito's zone is Coast and Central Bay.
