Improvements to
Southview Park are moving forward thanks to City Council approval of a construction contract with Integra Construction Services of Pleasanton, California. Integra submitted the low bid of $1,179,000 in a competitive process that drew bids from five construction firms. Construction is expected to begin by early spring and be completed by fall 2019.
Southview Park is located on a steep hillside in the Old Town neighborhood of Sausalito. For the project, Integra Construction Services will be fixing retaining walls, repairing and upgrading drainage systems, improving accessibility, grading and resurfacing the tennis and basketball courts, and adding and upgrading paths, stairs, lawns, and seating areas. An additional $195,000 has been allocated for a new play structure and surfacing from Ross Recreation Equipment.
The projected cost of improvements to Southview Park is $1,428,527. Funding for the improvements will come from a variety of sources, including the
2016 Certificates of Participation,
Measure O, and funds expected from
California Proposition 68, which was approved by voters in November 2018.
