At the City of Sausalito employee holiday party on December 14, City Manager Adam Politzer announced the winners of two annual awards for Sausalito City employees, the Extreme Act of Kindness Award and the Debbie Pagliaro Exceptional Customer Service Award. In this week's Currents, we'll recap the Extreme Act of Kindness Award. Next week, we'll present the winner of the Exceptional Customer Service Award.

The Extreme Act of Kindness Award was created to recognize a City employee for going far beyond her or his day-to-day responsibilities to help a Sausalito resident, fellow employee, or visitor to Sausalito. Nominations were made by City employees, who were invited to submit the names and accomplishments of deserving coworkers.

The following City employees were nominated for the 2018 award:
  • Assistant City Librarian Augie Webb
  • Police Chief John Rohrbacher
  • Library Assistant II Tula Biederman
  • Police Officer Brandon Nail
The 2018 winner of the Extreme Act of Kindness Award, as selected by City Manager Adam Politzer and Community Development Director Lilly Whalen, was Tula Biederman of the Sausalito Library. Tula received the award for making a special trip to visit a library patron at the VA Hospital in San Francisco.
