Kent Basso Receives Exceptional Customer Service Award

At the City of Sausalito employee holiday party on Friday, December 14, City Manager Adam Politzer announced the winners of two annual awards for Sausalito City employees, the Debbie Pagliaro Exceptional Customer Service Award and the Extreme Act of Kindness Award. Last week's Currents featured the Extreme Act of Kindness Award. This week, we'll recap the Exceptional Customer Service Award nominees and winner.

The Debbie Pagliaro Exceptional Customer Service Award was created to recognize a City employee for his or her consistently excellent customer service or for a single outstanding instance of exceptional customer service. The award was inspired by and named in honor of former City Clerk Debbie Pagliaro. Nominations for the award were submitted by the heads of the City's various departments.

The following City employees were nominated for the 2018 award:
  • Senior Library Assistant Rebecca Burgan
  • Public Works Supervisor Kent Basso
  • Permit Technician McKenna Ramiro
  • Maintenance Worker III Steve Hansen
The 2018 winner of the Exceptional Customer Service Award, as selected by City Manager Adam Politzer and Community Development Director Lilly Whalen, was Public Works Supervisor Kent Basso. Kent received the award for his exceptional performance at the scene of a car accident on Bridgeway in September 2018.
