Winter Storm Causes Minimal Damage in Sausalito

Sausalito escaped with minimal damage from the storm that struck the area on January 16 and 17. Incidents responded to by the Sausalito Police Department, the Department of Public Works, and the Southern Marin Fire Protection District included the following:
  • A large tree was knocked down on Wolfback Ridge Road, partially blocking the roadway
  • A large limb fell into the roadway near the intersection of Bonita and Napa streets
  • A tree blew over near the intersection of West Court and Richardson Street
  • Gate 5 Road experienced significant flooding on Thursday morning
The Sausalito Police Department reports that there were no incidents on Sausalito waters. In water controlled by the jurisdictions within the Richardson's Bay Regional Agency, one motorboat capsized and five vessels of various types and sizes broke free and ended up along the Tiburon shore.
