Sustainability Commission Update

The Sustainability Commission advises the City Council on waste management, recycling, and sea level rise. The commission also plans and conducts public education programs related to sustainability.

Previous meeting. The Sustainability Commission met for a regular meeting on January 10. At the meeting, the commissioners voted to forward a proposed ordinance banning single-use plastics to the Legislative Committee.

Upcoming meeting. The next Sustainability Commission meeting will be a special meeting on Thursday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Edgewater Room on the lower level of City Hall. The regular meeting scheduled for Thursday February 14 has been canceled. Topics on the February 7 agenda include public outreach and the General Plan Update.

The staff liaison to the Sustainability Commission is Senior Civil Engineer Andrew Davidson. The City Council liaison is Susan Cleveland-Knowles.
