A winter storm struck Sausalito on Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2. No significant incidents were reported by the Sausalito Police Department or the City's Department of Public Works. It was a different story on Richardson Bay, where Southern Marin Fire reported the following incidents:
- Two sailing vessels slipped their moorings and grounded on the Tiburon shore
- A motorboat broke loose and came to rest against a dock at Clipper Yacht Harbor in Sausalito
- Two unoccupied vessels capsized in Marin County waters off Clipper Yacht Harbor
- A man was assisted from the water at the Richardson Bay Marina after he fell in while trying to secure his vessel
- A man and his dog were assisted to shore after his sailboat started to take on water
None of the breakaway vessels originated from Sausalito waters, which have become significantly safer since the implementation of the Waterfront Management Plan in 2017.
