Storm Recap from February 13 and 14

Post Date:02/22/2019 7:00 PM

In addition to the mudslide that originated on the hillside above 406/408 Sausalito Boulevard, a number of other incidents related to the storm of February 13 and 14 were logged by public works and public safety personnel. Below is a summary of the incidents.
  • A mudslide took place at 447 Sausalito Boulevard in the same location as another slide a few weeks ago. The slide occurred on National Park Service land. A few small boulders entered the roadway and were pushed to the side and marked with cones. There was no property damage.
  • Several trees fell over on Willow Lane and landed on a townhouse. There were no injuries, and there was minimal property damage. The cause appears to be erosion of the bank of Willow Creek.
  • A mudslide occurred on private property downslope of Ebbtide Avenue at the far north end of Sausalito. Earth slid down the hillside and came to rest against a cottage at 330 Ebbtide/4185 Bridgeway.
  • Barricades were placed at Gate 5 Road due to tidally-influenced flooding.
  • A small mudslide at Ebbtide and Bridgeway dumped approximately one cubic yard of material onto the sidewalk.
  • The Richardson's Bay Regional Agency reports that 12 vessels either dragged anchor, took on water, or sunk from the storm. Six of these vessels were abated as marine debris. The largest boat that was abated was 50 feet long. None of the boats originated in Sausalito waters.
