Sustainability Commission Update

The Sustainability Commission advises the City Council on waste management, recycling, and sea level rise. The commission also plans and conducts public education programs related to sustainability.

Previous meeting. The Sustainability Commission held a regular meeting on March 14. Topics on the agenda included public outreach, the General Plan Update, and the ferry landing. Marin Clean Energy also presented information about the various energy services that it provides (Light Green, Deep Green, and Local Sol) and how the Sustainability Commission could help the City of Sausalito's residents and businesses move to renewable energy services.

Upcoming meeting. The next Sustainability Commission meeting will be held on Thursday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room. At the meeting, the commission will discuss solid waste and plans for a waste review study. Ongoing agenda items include the General Plan Update, the ferry landing, and a proposed ban on single-use plastics.

The staff liaison to the Sustainability Commission is Senior Civil Engineer Andrew Davidson. The City Council liaison is Susan Cleveland-Knowles.
