Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee Update

Post Date:04/12/2019 2:30 PM

The role of the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee is to provide the City Council with recommendations on bicycle and pedestrian circulation in the community. The committee's current priorities are the General Plan, safe routes to school, and congestion management:
  • General Plan. We are focused on updating the Circulation Element with visionary guidance and accurate documentation, ensuring our community is both prepared and well served in the rapidly changing landscape of mobility and transportation (e.g. e-bikes, rideshare, autonomous vehicles)
  • Safe Routes to School. We are committed to providing safe, easy-to-navigate, and fun options for our students to get from home to school and back again (e.g. bike lanes, crosswalks, crossing guards)
  • Congestion Management. We are excited by a variety of projects supporting locals and visitors alike, each one critical to protecting, accessing, and/or enjoying Sausalito safely, whether experienced by bus, boat, car, foot, or bike (e.g. parking, bike lanes, crosswalks, tour buses, ferry landing design)
Previous meeting. The Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee held a regular meeting on Monday, March 18 in the City Hall Council Chambers. Topics on the agenda included the bicycle route through Sausalito, the bike lanes on Bridgeway between Princess and Richardson streets, and the committee's mission statement.
