Summer Parking Rates Begin on May 1

Post Date:04/26/2019 2:45 PM

In July 2018, the City Council adopted a resolution establishing seasonal rates for the City's parking meters and municipal parking lots. The new pricing model increases the hourly parking rate during the warmer months when parking is in highest demand.

In 2019, the higher rates will go into effect on May 1 and continue until September 30. The rates are as follows:
  • $3 per hour for metered parking along Bridgeway and adjacent streets
  • Between $2 and $4 per hour at the downtown municipal lots, with the cost depending on the location of the lot ($25 to $40 daily maximum)
  • $10 per stay for tour coaches and vans that use the downtown passenger pick-up and drop-off location behind the Bank of America building
Daily parking rates will remain unchanged during the high-demand season for all commuters and downtown workers enrolled in a parking program through the City of Sausalito.

Resident Parking Passcards will likewise be unaffected by the seasonal rate change. Sausalito residents using their parking passcards will continue to be eligible for three hours of free parking in public lots before 6:00 p.m. and an unlimited amount of free parking in public lots after 6:00 p.m.

Any questions about parking in Sausalito may be directed to the Sausalito Parking Authority at (415) 289-4170 or parking@sausalito.gov.
