Extra Garbage Pickup Scheduled for the Week of May 20

Post Date:05/10/2019 11:30 AM

Sausalito's garbage services provider, Bay Cities Refuse, has announced that its "spring cleanup" will be held the week of May 20 through 24. On your usual garbage collection day that week, Bay Cities will collect up to one additional cubic yard of refuse, the equivalent of seven plastic garbage bags. All material must be placed in bags, boxes, or containers and placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. There is no charge to dispose of the additional refuse.

All material from the extra garbage pickup will be taken to landfill. As always, place recyclable materials in your blue bin and green waste (yard and food waste) in your green bin or in reusable 30-gallon paper bags. There is never a limit to how much yard waste you may place at the curbside. Reusable items should be donated to Goodwill or the Salvation Army.

Hazardous materials such as computer monitors or printers, paint, motor oil, household batteries, or microwaves can be taken to the Marin Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 565 Jacoby Street in San Rafael.

Any questions about the spring cleanup may be directed to Bay Cities Refuse at (415) 332-3646.
