Planning Commission Update

The role of the Planning Commission is to review applications for design review and land use entitlements, as set forth in planning and zoning laws of the City and the state, and perform other such duties as specified in the Sausalito Municipal Code.

Previous meeting. A hearing of the Planning Commission was held on May 15. The following actions were taken at the hearing:
  • Continued to May 29 a design review permit and encroachment agreement to construct a new 642-square-foot detached two-car garage and associated retaining walls at 76 Cazneau Avenue
  • Recommended City Council adoption of zoning ordinance amendments for standards and criteria for wireless communications facilities, to comply with recent changes in federal and state law
  • Readopted the Planning Commission's site visit policy
  • Reviewed and discussed the Planning Commission's engagement with the General Plan Update process
  • Reviewed a request from Mayor Burns for an annual "white paper" with commission goals and objectives

Upcoming meeting. There will be a regular meeting of the Planning Commission in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29. The following items are on the agenda:
  • A design review permit and encroachment agreement to construct a new 642-square-foot detached two-car garage and associated retaining walls at 76 Cazneau Avenue (continued from the May 15 meeting)
  • A retroactive design review permit for the expansion of a second floor deck at 27 Central Avenue (continued from the April 3 meeting).
  • Review and discussion of the Planning Commission's engagement with the General Plan Update process
All Planning Commission meetings are open to the public and are also live streamed and video recorded. The department's public counter in City Hall is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
