Road Work Scheduled for Caledonia Street and Spencer Avenue
As part of the City's 2018 Streets Project, a City of Sausalito contractor will be microsurfacing Caledonia Street and Spencer Avenue during the week of June 10. Microsurface is a protective seal coat which extends the life of pavement.
Work on Spencer Avenue will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10. On that day, Spencer between Prospect Avenue and the Highway 101 frontage road will be closed to all traffic. If you typically use Spencer to travel between Highway 101 and Sausalito, you will need to find an alternative route. If you live along this section of Spencer and plan to use your car on June 10, please depart from your driveway before 8:00 a.m. or find an alternative parking location for the night of Sunday, June 9.
Work on Caledonia Street will take place between Napa Street and Johnson Street. On Tuesday, June 11, the southbound lane of Caledonia will be closed. On Wednesday, June 12, the northbound lane will be closed. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Driveways exiting onto lane closures will not be accessible while construction is underway. Residents or users of those driveways will need to move their vehicles before 8:00 a.m. on June 11 for those on the west side of Caledonia and before 8:00 a.m. on June 12 for those on the east side. Caledonia's intersections with Napa and Johnson will remain open for the duration of the work, providing access to Bonita Street, which runs parallel to Caledonia.
At a future date, the contractor will return to restore pavement markings along the same segments of Caledonia Street and Spencer Avenue.
Please drive very carefully and watch for construction workers and signage in the vicinity of work areas. Any questions about these projects or other streets projects in Sausalito may be directed to Senior Civil Engineer Andrew Davidson at email@example.com or (415) 289-4180.
