Parks and Recreation Commission Update

The seven-member Parks and Recreation Commission advises the City Council on the activities of the Parks and Recreation Department, on planning and policy matters related to City of Sausalito parks and recreation areas, and on the management of public art in Sausalito.

Previous meeting. The Parks and Recreation Commission met on Wednesday June 19. At the meeting, the commissioners discussed the white paper on commission goals and objectives as requested by Mayor Joe Burns. The commissioners also generated a list of items for the General Plan.

Upcoming meeting. The Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, July 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Edgewater Room on the lower level of City Hall. Topics on the agenda include the General Plan Update, the white paper requested by Mayor Joe Burns, the consideration of a high-impact special event permit for the Princess Street Block Party on October 27, and the consideration of a high-impact special event permit for the MS Waves to Wine ride through Sausalito on September 21.

The staff liaison for the Parks and Recreation Commission is Parks and Recreation Director Mike Langford. The City Council liaison is Mayor Joe Burns.
