Sausalito Welcomes Women Entrepreneurs from Viña del Mar

Post Date:08/30/2019 2:00 PM

Sausalito Sister Cities is currently hosting eight women entrepreneurs from our sister city of Viña del Mar, Chile. During their time here the entrepreneurs will study the Sausalito Art Festival, with a focus on volunteerism, festival operations, and community engagement. Following the festival, they will participate in business workshops and tour several Sausalito businesses to learn about retail and marketing practices in the United States. They are joined in their visit by two representatives from Viña del Mar city government, Councilmember Macarena Urenda and Director of Communications Wladimir Espinoza.

To meet the women entrepreneurs and shop their products, the community is invited to the Great Sister City Trunk Show on Friday, September 6 at Shoe Stories of Sausalito, located near the ferry landing at 22 El Portal. The event will take place between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

A city on the central coast of Chile with a population of over 300,000, Viña del Mar became Sausalito's first sister city in 1960. It was joined by Sakaide, Japan, in 1988 and Cascais, Portugal, in 2013.

Any questions about the delegation from Viña del Mar may be directed to Monica Finnegan of Sausalito Sister Cities at
