Planning Commission Update

The role of the Planning Commission is to review applications for design review and land use entitlements, as set forth in planning and zoning laws of the City and the state, and perform other such duties as specified in the Sausalito Municipal Code.

Previous meeting. A hearing of the Planning Commission was held on September 4. The following actions were taken at the hearing:
  • Approved an encroachment agreement and reasonable accommodation for accessibility improvements at 224 Bulkley Avenue
  • Approved with conditions a request for modification to a previously approved design review permit for 61 Wolfback Ridge Road
  • Approved a tree removal permit to remove a protected tree located adjacent to the parking deck at 134 Edwards Avenue
  • Approved with conditions a tree removal permit for the removal of three alder trees located in the rear parking lot of 107 Caledonia Street
  • Approved with conditions a tree removal permit for the removal of six coast live oak trees, including two trees located in the rear yard of 596 Sausalito Boulevard, one tree located in the rear yard of 600 Sausalito Boulevard, and three trees located in the side yard of 608 Sausalito Boulevard
  • Approved with conditions the modification of a design review permit at 70 George Lane

Upcoming meeting. There will be a regular meeting of the Planning Commission in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18. The following items are on the agenda:
  • Consideration of a design review permit and encroachment agreement to remodel the existing duplex at 519 Caledonia Street, construct a 482 square-foot addition plus a detached two-car garage at 519 Caledonia Street, and construct a new driveway off of Napa Street for the benefit of the existing residence at 403 Napa Street
  • Consideration of the schematic tree master plan for the redevelopment of MLK Park, as requested by the Parks and Recreation Commission
All Planning Commission meetings are open to the public and are also live streamed and video recorded. The department's public counter in City Hall is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
