Hospitality Business Development Committee Update

Post Date:09/13/2019 2:00 PM

The role of the Hospitality Business Development Committee (HBDC) is to promote the hospitality and tourism industry in Sausalito and make recommendations to the City Council. Membership of the committee consists of two representatives from the hotel industry, two representatives from the restaurant industry, and two representatives from the Chamber of Commerce.

Previous Meetings. The Hospitality Business Development Committee met on Wednesday, August 7. At the meeting, the committee discussed the development of a strategic marketing plan for Sausalito to drive incremental revenue to all Sausalito businesses by attracting high-value, low-impact visitors during the off-peak season and mid-week, Monday through Thursday. The committee also held a Joint Meeting with the Business Advisory Committee on August 15. That meeting featured an update on the City's economic development program, an update on the request for proposals (RFP) for a land economics study of businesses in Sausalito, and a discussion of short-term economic development initiatives.

Upcoming meeting. The next meeting of the Hospitality Business Development Committee will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 10:00 a.m. in the City Hall Conference Room. Topics on the agenda include an update on the economic development program and a report on short-term economic development projects and RFPs.

Any questions about the Hospitality Business Development Committee may be directed to Assistant City Manager/Administrative Services Director Yulia Carter at ycarter@sausalito.gov. All meetings of the Hospitality Business Development Committee are open to the public, with time available at the meeting for public comment.
