Ferry Landing Among Topics at January 28 Council Meeting

Fire district drones, ferry landing landside improvements, and the February 14 mudflow are among the business items to be considered at the Tuesday, January 28, 2020, meeting of the Sausalito City Council.

The upcoming meeting will be the first of the new year to be held in the Council Chambers in City Hall. The previous meeting, which focused on the General Plan Update, was held at IDESST Hall.

Below is a brief overview of each business item, followed by a link to a staff report with more detailed information. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.
  • Fire District Drone Program: Fire Chief Chris Tubbs of the Southern Marin Fire Protection District will present an overview of a proposed drone program that would help firefighters assess the scenes of emergencies and disasters, among other applications. Staff report for item 7A
  • Sausalito Ferry Landside Improvements: Director of Public Works Kevin McGowan will seek direction from the City Council on a project to improve the landside facilities (as opposed to the waterside gangway and float) at the Sausalito ferry landing. Staff report for item 7B
  • Mudflow Recovery Project: Eric Vaughan of Harris and Associates will provide an update on repairs at the site of the February 14, 2019, mudflow and on the costs and prospects for reimbursement associated with debris removal and repairs. Staff report for item 7C

For an item's approximate start time, please consult the meeting agenda. There will be an opportunity for public comment on each agenda item. The meeting will also be broadcast live on the City website using the City's upgraded video system (see article below) and will be available the day after the meeting as an archived recording.
