Planning Commission Update

The role of the Planning Commission is to review applications for design review and land use entitlements, as set forth in planning and zoning laws of the City and the state, and perform other such duties as specified in the Sausalito Municipal Code.

Previous meetings. The following action was taken by the Planning Commission at its meeting on December 18, 2019:
  • 253 Glen Drive: Approved a design review permit to substantially demolish and reconstruct a single-family residential structure at 253 Glen Drive without substantially replicating the original structure

The following actions were taken by the Planning Commission at its meeting on January 22, 2020:
  • Approved the Planning Commission meeting calendar for 2020
  • Discussed the January 14, 2020, joint City Council/Planning Commission workshop on the General Plan Update

Upcoming meeting. There will be a regular meeting of the Planning Commission in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. The following items are on the agenda:
  • Bridgeway at Coloma: A design review permit, encroachment agreement, conditional use permit, and tree removal permit are requested for Sausalito-Marin City Sanitary District pump station improvements; the project involves demolishing the existing Scotties and Whiskey Springs pump stations and replacing them with a new Coloma Pump Station located in the City of Sausalito public right-of-way at the southwest corner of the intersection of Bridgeway and Coloma Street (adjacent to the Whiskey Springs condominiums)
  • 666 Bridgeway: A conditional use permit has been requested to establish a formula-retail bike rental operation (Unlimited Biking)
  • 52 Princess Street: A conditional use permit has been requested to convert vacant ground floor retail space to two hotel rooms
