Draft Study of Local Economy Now Available for Review

Post Date:02/21/2020 3:30 PM

The draft version of a Land Economics Study, a comprehensive study of the business economy in Sausalito, has been completed by consultants working for the City of Sausalito. The 126-page report is written in presentation format and contains 30 recommendations on opportunities to improve the local business economy.

The draft study will be presented for public review at a joint public meeting of the Business Advisory Committee and the Hospitality Business Development Committee on Thursday, February 27. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. Presenting the study will be President Ken Hira and Senior Advisor Tom Jirovsky of Kosmont Companies, the consulting firm that created the report.

Sausalito residents, business owners and operators, and other interested parties are encouraged to attend the meeting on February 27 and share their thoughts on the report during the public comment period. The meeting will also be live streamed and video recorded. Based on feedback received on the draft, Kosmont Companies will prepare a final version to be presented to the City Council on March 24.

Any questions or comments about the Land Economics Study may be directed to Yulia Carter, Assistant City Manager and Administrative Services Director, at or (415) 289-4105.
