City Receives Feedback on Draft General Plan at June 20 Workshop

Post Date:06/26/2020 7:15 PM

More than 80 people participated in a June 20 virtual workshop on the Public Review Draft of the City's updated General Plan. The primary purpose of the workshop was to give Sausalito residents an opportunity to comment on the draft document. A complete video recording of the event is available on the City website.

In addition to the public comment received during the workshop, the City is collecting feedback on specific policies in the updated General Plan, including climate adaptation strategies and the future of the waterfront, via a brief online survey. More than 300 people have taken the survey to date, and preliminary results were presented during the June 20 workshop. Responses will continue to be collected through July 1.

Upcoming meetings in the General Plan update process include a General Plan Working Group session at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30 and a Planning Commission meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. The City Council will hold a study session on the Public Review Draft and the feedback received from the workshop and survey at its meeting on Tuesday, July 7.

Following the City Council meeting on July 7, the City's consultant team will prepare a final draft of the updated General Plan for discussion at Planning Commission meetings in September. The City Council is scheduled to consider adoption of the General Plan in October. More information about the General Plan can be found by visiting sausalitogeneralplan.org.
