Progress Report at Southview Park
Work continues apace on an improvement project at Southview Park in Sausalito's Hurricane Gulch neighborhood. Construction began during the week of August 10 and is expected to continue into December. Components of the project include fixing the retaining walls, grading and resurfacing the tennis and basketball courts, replacing the children's play structure, and improving the paths, lawns, and seating areas.
To date, the City's contractor for the project, CF Contracting, has removed the majority of the internal wall systems, excavated for new wall foundations, and installed reinforcement in preparation for the placement of concrete footings. Additional formwork for the retaining walls will follow the placement of footings. The project had several large pieces of equipment on site during the week of September 14, including a concrete pump truck that was able to reach from North Street to the wall systems near the basketball court.
