Tent Encampment Update, February 3, 2021

  • The Sausalito City Council at its next regular meeting on Tuesday, February 9, will discuss issues related to the tent encampment at Dunphy Park. The Council is scheduled to consider proposed resolutions concerning Dunphy Park, as well as the City's broader approach to homelessness and tent encampments. The agenda for Tuesday's meeting, as well as documents related to the discussion, will be available this Friday at the City's web site under City Council Meetings and Agendas. A link to the Council's live video meeting will be posted on this page, under Upcoming Events, before the meeting’s 7:00 p.m. start time.
  • Today, Sausalito officials had follow-up meetings with Marin County District 3 Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters, whose duties include a seat on the Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) and the Richardson's Bay Regional Authority (RBRA), and State Senator Mike McGuire, whose senate district includes all of Marin County. The meetings with Moulton-Peters and McGuire focused on avenues for county and/or state assistance in helping to identify appropriate alternate housing for occupants of the tent encampment. Related, Sausalito officials also met with RBRA staff and stressed the importance of better coordination.
