Sausalito, as of today, is among the cities participating in a group convened by Marin County Health and Human Services (HHS) to work on finding alternative and appropriate housing for occupants of tent encampments.
Sausalito's participation in the HHS-organized group is one of several avenues that Sausalito is pursuing to identify housing options for those at the tent encampment in Dunphy Park and is in furtherance of the resolution passed by the City Council last Friday to "explore every opportunity to provide shelter and care to those without a home."
City staff began work today to implement the second resolution that the City Council passed last Friday, which closes certain City property to camping and storage of personal property and designates a portion of Marinship Park for overnight camping. Further information on the implementation of this resolution will be provided as it becomes available.
The complete video recording of Friday's special meeting of the City Council is now available. The staff report and resolutions may be found on the meeting agenda.
