Today, the City of Sausalito issued a Notice to Vacate to the occupants of the tent encampment at Dunphy Park, in accordance with the resolution passed on Friday, February 5 by the City Council. The notice, which was posted and distributed to individuals, stated that the Department of Public Works will clear and close the site no earlier than 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. The notice also identified a designated and signposted area of Marinship Park as a temporary, transitional overnight camping location for individuals who have no option of sleeping indoors. Further, the notice said that the clear and close date of February 16 is conditioned upon the availability of storage at Marinship Park, in alignment with the Council's vote on February 5.
The City continues to work with local and regional governmental agencies and other partners to locate appropriate alternate housing for occupants of the Dunphy Park encampment.
