Southview Park Improvement Project Nears Completion

Post Date:02/26/2021 4:50 PM

An extensive improvement project at Southview Park in Sausalito's Hurricane Gulch neighborhood is entering its final stages, with a grand opening expected sometime this spring.

Work completed so far includes the construction of retaining walls, stairs, and pathways; the repaving of the basketball and tennis courts; and the installation of drinking fountains, drainage facilities, and fencing.

Remaining work includes the installation of handrails along stairs, completion of a fall-protection surface for the playground area, and miscellaneous "punch list" items. Installation of permanent pavement markings for the tennis court and basketball court will take place during warmer weather.

Also to be completed is a project to install landscaping and benches that is being funded by $89,500 in donations raised by Friends of Southview Park. Sausalito Beautiful is currently working on a schematic plan and expects to post it soon to a web page dedicated to the Southview Park project.

Any questions about the Southview Park Improvement Project may be directed to Senior Civil Engineer Andrew Davidson at adavidson@sausalito.gov.
