The City of Sausalito is awaiting a ruling from U.S. District Court Judge Edward M. Chen on the City's April 9 motion asking the court to modify its preliminary injunction and permit the relocation of the Dunphy Park encampment to Marinship Park.
On May 20, the Sausalito Police Department removed a tent from land adjacent to City Hall with the assistance of the Public Works Department. The owner of the tent was on scene at the time and declined to gather his belongings. All of the property in and around the tent was taken for safekeeping and is in storage awaiting pickup. In accordance with City ordinance, a 72-hour notice to vacate had been posted at the tent and verbally communicated to its owner on May 17.
