Although Sausalito is enjoying mild weather today, the City remains under a local emergency due to the impacts of the storm that swept through town on Sunday, October 24. Below is a status update as recovery efforts continue.
Power has been restored to most Sausalito neighborhoods but remains off for 81 PG&E customers in the vicinity of Prospect Avenue. As of 1:00 p.m. on Monday, the estimated restoration time for those customers was 7:00 p.m.
Public works teams are out today cutting up downed trees and branches and clearing blocked storm drains.
A shelter with cots and blankets supplied by the American Red Cross has been open at the MLK Gym since Sunday evening.
City staff are on site at the tent encampment in Marinship Park, which was heavily damaged by wind and rain. Clean up work will begin with the assistance of Urban Alchemy once a process is in place for safeguarding possessions from damaged tents.
The flood waters that inundated lower elevations in Marin City have receded, and traffic has been flowing smoothly today.
