Signatures are currently being gathered for a ballot measure to implement a 4% tax on delivery and retail sales of recreational cannabis products within Sausalito city limits.

Although delivery of cannabis products to customers in Sausalito is currently legal, storefront retail sales are not. The proposed tax would only be collected on storefront cannabis retailers in the event that such activity is allowed at a later date.

The initiative is sponsored by Sausalito resident Timothy McCloud. More information about the measure and the proposed amendment to the Sausalito municipal code can be found in the city attorney's ballot title and summary and in filings submitted by McCloud.
