Capital Improvements, Sidewalk Repair Program on Council Agenda

Post Date:03/31/2024 5:30 PM
Capital improvement projects to be prioritized in the fiscal year 2024-25 budget and a new program to help property owners pay for sidewalk repairs are among the topics on the agenda for the regular meeting of the City Council at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2.

The hybrid-format meeting will be conducted in the City Hall Council Chambers and via Zoom. It will also be broadcast live on the City website.

The following business items are on the meeting agenda:
  • Item 5A - Capital Improvement Program
The City Council will consider a list of infrastructure improvement projects recommended by the Public Works Department for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024. In addition to active projects that require ongoing funding, the department is recommending that approximately $3 million be dedicated to new projects, including $1.85 million for street resurfacing. Staff Report

  • Item 5B - Sidewalk Repair Program
By law, most repairs to damaged or displaced sidewalks fronting private property in Sausalito are the responsibility of the property owner, not the City. For this item, the Council will consider a staff recommendation to develop a new annual incentive program that would provide property owners with a 50% reimbursement — up to $1,000 — for repairing or replacing their damaged sidewalks. Staff Report
For additional items, staff reports, and other supporting documents, please refer to the meeting agenda. Information about participating in the meeting via Zoom and options for providing public comment can also be found on the agenda.
