The City's fiscal year 2024-25 budget, infrastructure and sustainability, and a Marinship ballot measure are among the items on a packed agenda for the regular meeting of the
City Council at 7:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, June 18.
The hybrid-format meeting will be conducted in the City Hall Council Chambers and via Zoom. It will also be
broadcast live on the City website.
The following business items appear on the
meeting agenda:
- Item 5A - Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Review
For item 5A, the Council will review City Manager Chris Zapata's recommended fiscal year 2024-25 budget and provide direction regarding any modifications in advance of formal adoption. A special meeting has been called on June 25 to continue consideration of the budget.
- Item 5B - Infrastructure Renewal and Sustainability Program
The Council will receive an update on a program that began in January 2024 with the objective of identifying alternative solutions for funding infrastructure improvements that further the City's sustainability goals.
- Item 5C - Marinship Blue Economy Innovation District
For item, 5C, the Council will consider placing a ballot initiative on the November ballot that would limit or restrict land uses in the Marinship district that are not industrial, maritime, or fine arts-related in nature or that directly support those uses.
- Item 5D - Charter City
Sausalito is a general law city. For this item, the Council will consider the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a charter city. A charter city has more options than a general law city when handling municipal affairs.
- Item 5E - Parks and Recreation Commission
There are five open seats on the Parks and Recreation Commission. For this item, the Council will consider making appointments from a pool of nine applicants based on their application materials and interviews conducted by the Council in open session beginning at 5:30 p.m.
- Item 5F - Economic Development Advisory Committee
The Council will consider a revision to the municipal code to specifically allow nonresidents to serve on the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) but otherwise preserve the City's residency requirements for Council-appointed boards, committees, and commissions.
