The deteriorating section of Edwards Avenue from Marion Avenue to Alexander Avenue will receive new concrete paving in two phases from June 17 to July 3.

Phase 1 will take place from June 17 to June 21 on the less steep section of the roadway between Marion Avenue and approximately 31 Edwards Avenue. This section of the roadway will be closed to all traffic during normal working hours and opened after 5:00 p.m.

Phase 2 will focus on the steepest section of Edwards Avenue as it descends to Alexander Avenue. Twenty-four-hour closure of the roadway on all days will be necessary from June 24 to July 3 to allow the contractor to remove the existing surface, place new rebar, pour concrete, and allow the concrete to harden.

Pedestrian access to and from residences will be maintained throughout construction. Additional safeguards will be in place to ensure access for first responders while work is in progress.
